D.K. McNeely & Son store, circa 1919
This building standing today at 134 Main St. is probably the oldest standing commercial structure in town. Originally Harris & Sherrill dry goods store, D. K. McNeely purchased the building in the early 1890's. The D. K. McNeely family owned the building for about 100 years until it was sold in 1994. Pictured here are David Kilpatrick McNeely (left) and Cyrus Carmi McNeely (right).

The Mooresville Museum
The former home of Charles Mack and Sons Wholesale at 132 East Center Avenue is now the location of The Mooresville Museum. The building was donated to the Town of Mooresville by John and Christy Mack in 2005. The Mack family started business here as door to door salesmen. In 1912 they had grown their business to open Mooresville first department store at 130 Main St.

D.E. Turner & Co. Hardware Store
Standing today at 111 N. Main Street, as it has since 1898 D.E. Turner's is the oldest business in Mooresville still operating under the same name as it was when this picture was taken circa 1899. D.E. Turner is leaning on what is believed to have been the town's first gasoline pump. The interior of the store has remained unchanged since it was built.
