Inscription. In recognition of their untiring devotion to the University of Louisville, Trager Pasa asknowledges they leadership and generosity of Bernard and Jean Trager. Their donation of the sculpture, "Truth and Justice" created by the artist, Barney Bright symbolizes their commitment to the arts and education.

After attending the University of Louisville and serving his country in the USAF, Bernard Trager achieved remarkable success as a leader in the banking industry. With Jean at his side. Bernard left his position as President and CEO of Union Trust, a company he founded, to launch his new company - Republic Bancorp. His banking expertise and his entrepreneurial grit guided the bold transformation of this financial corporation, Republic Bank & Trust Company, into becoming the largest community bank in Kentucky.

His leadership in his beloved Louisville community is legend and exemplifies hard work, dedicated, focus, entrepreneurial conviction, and outstanding skill. Jean and Bernard have been partners in marriage and business for 55 years. Their love for each other, their family, Republic Bancorp, and the University of Louisville is testament to the ideals underscoring their remarkable success.
