The monument, located on the east corner of Central Avenue and East 24th Street, still has some landscaping to finish, as well as the installation of two benches and a delicate barrier, constructed from the original steps of the capital building to allow the memorial to be a place of reflection and solitude.(Submitted on August 25, 2024, by Mark Parker of Hickory, North Carolina.)
