1. Site of Old Andress Inn Marker
Inscription. Built about 1848 by James Andress, from South Carolina. The Andress Inn was the center of civic, social and business affairs in early Polk County. Teh inn contained a restaurant, saloon, grocery store, post office, stage station with a livery stable nearby. Among noted guests was General Sam Houston.
