One hundred and twenty-eight minute-men from Shrewsbury responded to the Lexington alarm April 19, 1775.

In the Winter of 1775-76, Gen. Henry Knox's artillery train passed this location as he was transferring cannons from Fort Ticonderoga to Gen. George Washington's army in Cambridge.
