Inscription.

This is the site of one of the
original 1907 buildings of the
McCarty Telegraph Station.
During World War II, it served
as a mess hall for army troops
stationed here. It was destroyed
by fire in the 1950s.

 
Erected by Alaska State Parks and Alaska Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation.
