Inscription.
Originally located on the Open Hearth #5 Office Building at the United States Steel Homestead Works, the USS sign was given to Chiodo's Tavern, located on 8th Avenue in Homestead in the late 1980s. The bar's owner, Joe Chiodo, had the sign mounted on the building and added the banner "In Honor of the Employees" to show his appreciation for the generations of steel workers that worked at the mill.

When Chiodo's closed in 2005 the sign was auctioned off. David Conrad bought the sign and donated it to Rivers of Steel.

With the assistance of the Carpenters District Council and Century Steel Erectors, the sign was installed at the Pump House in July of 2005.

Erected 2024 by Rivers of Steel.
