1. Grossmünsterkapelle Marker
1858-59 schuf der Architekt Johann Jakob Breitinger (1814-1880) auf dem «chorherrenplatzchen» den polygonalen Eckbau in feingliedriger tudorgotik und errichtete 1861 den dazugehörigen Brunnen.
Die Kapelle ist ein wichtiger Zeuge neugotischer Kirchenarchitektur in Zürich.
Unter Denkmalschutz seit 1972
In the Middle Ages, a wooden house stood here, which was demolished in 1661 because it was in a dilapidated state.
In 1858-59, the architect Johann Jakob Breitinger (1814-1880) created the polygonal corner building in delicate Tudor Gothic style on the Chorherrenplatzchen (“Little Choristers Square”) and built the associated fountain in 1861. The chapel is an important example of neo-Gothic church architecture in Zurich.
