1. Mercantile Building Marker

Inscription.
Across the street to the east was the village mercantile building, which sold basic necessities. When the residents desired a post office in 1884, they needed a unique community name. Since they lived under a form of the LDS United Order, or Order of Enoch, they decided upon the name of Enoch. In 1905, a telephone line was installed from Cedar City, with a switch-board and operator in the building.
