The Bailey house, built about 1911, is a large two story, double pile, asymmetrically massed structure with a broad half-timbered and stuccoed gable on the principle, north elevation...

George Bailey (1879-1951) was a prominent businessman and public servant. He was one of the organizers and stockholders of Hickory Chair Company and was secretary-treasurer of the company until selling his interests. In 1931, Bailey served on the Worth-Elliott Library board, and was elected city alderman in 1932 and re-elected
