1. The Wall of Life Marker
To the left and around the comer, there are 3,000 laser-cut holes in a wall of steel to honor the victims of the 9/11 attacks. Of the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day, 246 were victims on the doomed flights, 125 at the Pentagon and 2,606 in New York City at and around the Twin Towers and the response teams on the ground.
A total of 411 of the 2,606 in New York were emergency responders from The New York City Fire Department, The New York City Police Department, The Port Authority Police Department, and EMTs from private emergency medical services, At night, the approximate 3,000 holes illuminate to honor the memory of all those approximate 3,000 holes illuminate to honor the memory of all those who lost and gave their lives.
