1. First Presbyterian Church Marker
Inscription.
The present church structure was built in 1893 at a cost of $15,500. It was constructed in the Gothic Revival style with Gothic gables located on each elevation and twin louvered lancet windows. Additions to the building were added in 1913 and 1951.

The congregation was organized in 1829 by The Rev. Asa Brooks who lies interred beneath the church. The Sower window in the front of the present building was given in memory of Rev. Brooks by the late Governor Brooks Fleming and family.
