Inscription.
Lou Adado served as an elected city council member for nearly 19 years. In his first term he represented the third ward after being a leader in the 1960's annexation effort that added the area south of Jolly Road to the city. He later served as a councilmember-at-large from January 1976 until he passed away on November 27/1990.

A revised city charter approved by voters in 1978 created the position of City Council President. Lou was selected as the first President and he led the council through the Charter transition of powers.

Lou passionately supported the public safety services of our city government; a professional, well equipped police force and fire department, with free paramedic services to all residents, well maintained roads and safe decent housing for our citizens. Lou was very people-oriented and showed genuine concern for all citizens. With his warmth and big smile he especially had a way of making instant friends with senior citizens and children. Of Lebanese descent, Lou was strongly supported by voters in the Lebanese and Italian communities. He was deeply religious and was an active leader at St. Casimir Parish. He retired
