Regarding The River Grove Historical House and Barn. Also known as the Dohrmann-Buckman House, this Italianate-style home about 12 miles west-northwest of downtown Chicago was built for Frederick Dohrmann around 1875. Henry Buckman, who would be a long-time village clerk in River Grove, acquired the home in 1890 and later built two additions. The Buckman family owned it until 1992, when Henry Buckman's granddaughter deeded the home to the Village of River Grove to become a historical museum.
