Six-Pounder Replica
This cannon is a replica of the six-pounders used by both the British and Americans in the War of 1812. It was at the Battle of Plattsburg at Lake Champlain, New York, where 3,500 American soldiers under the command of General Alexander Macomb routed the 11,000-man British army.
Alexander Macomb was born in 1782 in Detroit, trained at West Point and later became the Commanding General of the United States Army.
The cannon has been donated by the Mount Clemens Rotary Club in honor of the 100th anniversary of Rotary International.
