1. Smithwick’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Baptismal House Marker

Inscription. In 1882 Asa T. Peal and Abram Tice gave out of "natural love and respect a half-acre of land at the Dipping Hole to the Smithwick Creek Primitive Baptist Church for the privilege of a baptizing place."

The Baptismal House was built in 1892. It was segregated by gender and participants changed into dry clothes after having been baptized in the creek. It was utilized in the 1930’s but was moved in 2000 because of flooding.
