Clarksburg in Harrison County, West Virginia — The American South (Appalachia)
Gore Hotel
This structure was first built as a four-story hotel in 1910. Then a fifth story was added in 1913. The hotel was owned by Dr. Truman. E. Gore, physician, and brother of Howard M. Gore. Howard Gore served as governor of West Virginia from 1925-1929. Although it is considered somewhat neo-classical in design, it has many Renaissance Revival elements.
Now, the Gore Luxe preserves this historical, majestic beauty. Under new ownership, it offers luxury-lifestyle living with urban residences and unique retail spaces--trendsetting our Downtown Clarksburg area.
Erected by The Clarksburg History Museum.
