Regarding The Pritchard House. Located near downtown Titusville, the two-story wood-framed residence is the city's premier example of the Queen Anne architectural style. The house was built in 1891 for Captain James Pritchard and his wife, Mary. They moved to the town from St. Louis, Missouri, in 1876. Captain Pritchard organized the Indian River State Bank, incorporated in 1889, and served as its president. He also owned a hardware store located at what is now 327 S. Washington Avenue. Descendents of Captain Pritchard have continuously lived in the elegant home, which is locally known for its decorative Queen Anne woodwork and trimmings.

5. Captain James Pritchard House
South side view of Captain James Pritchard & Mary Pritchard House featuring woodwork and chimney closeup. The Pritchard House is an outstanding example of the Queen Anne architecture, a distinctly American form that was popular from approximately 1876-1910. The house appears today much like it did when it was built in 1891.
