Inscription.  German:

English Translation:
The Jesuit Church is the outstanding architectural testimony to the transfer of the Palatinate electoral dignity to a Catholic branch of the House of Wittelsbach. In 1727, Elector Karl Philipp bequeathed a building site on the west side of the palace to the Jesuit Order. A few years later, work began on the "Great Horkirche", the foundation stone was laid in 1733. The building, designed

by Alessandro Galli da Bibiena, together with the Jesuit College, formed a monumental building complex that expressed the order's self-confidence in the Protestant-dominated Electorate of the Palatinate. The first service took place in 1756. After the Jesuit Order was abolished in 1773, the Jesuit Church was used as a Catholic parish church from 1804 onwards. The building was badly damaged in World War II and rebuilt in the following decades. The reconstruction of the high altar was completed in 1997, and further renovation work followed.
