Inscription. This monument marks the site of the Fredsminde Lutheran Church built in 1889 jointly by the Danish Lutherans of Brookville township and their Baptist and Seventh Day Adventist neighbors. In time, new patterns of rural living reduced the community's need for this place of worship; the parish was dissolved in 1960, at which date its members, before their transfer to other local parishes of the American Lutheran Synod, voted erection of this memorial to the country church that they had loved and served so long.
