Inscription.  German:

English Translation:
In the 18th century, coffee shops enjoyed increasing popularity in Mannheim. The Achenbach'sche Kaffeehaus, named after its owner, here in D 2, 6 is considered one of the most distinguished in the city. Later, the building became the home of the "Casino and Museum Society", founded in 1803 mainly at the instigation of the bookseller Mathias Fontaine (1749-1818). After a split over the question of admitting female members, the "Harmonie" emerged from this society in 1814. The society acquired the house in 1824 and remodeled it for the first time on a large scale in 1839. The "Harmonie" concerts had a significant influence on Mannheim's musical life in the 19th century. Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826), who was staying in Mannheim, also took part in several of these concerts in 1810. The building was remodeled again in 1925/26, but was then
