Inscription.  German:
Der Schlosser Otto Feick erfand 1921 in Ludwigshafen ein Sportgerät, bei dem zwei gleichgroße Metallreifen durch mit Handgriffen und Fußhaltern, versehene Verstrebungen verbunden sind. Als Dank an seine spätere Heimat nannte Feick es „Rhönrad". Im Rhönradturnen finden sowohl nationale Meisterschaften als auch Weltmeisterschaften statt.

English Translation:
In 1921, the metalworker Otto Feick invented a piece of sports equipment in Ludwigshafen in which two metal hoops of the same size are connected by struts with handles and footrests. As a thank you to his future homeland, Feick called it the "Rhönrad". National championships as well as world championships are held in Rhönrad gymnastics.
