Inscription.  German:
Um 1525 unter Kurfürst Ludwig V. (1508-44) erbaut. Mit Metzgerei, Backhaus, Vorratsräumen, Schneiderei sowie Bediensteten- und Herrenküche. Soldatenbau mit Wachstube und Wohnungen der Wachsoldaten sowie Wirtschaftsgebäude.

English:
Built around 1525 under Elector Ludwig V (1508-44). Including a butcher's shop, bakery, storage rooms, tailor's, and servant and lord's kitchen. Soldiers' building with guardhouse and guards' living quarters and service rooms.

again: this time by the forces of Nature, in the form of two devastating lightning strikes. The once-proud residence caught fire – and was left in ruins.
