The Pioneer Jackson Family
The land on which this community center is located was the site of a log cabin built in the year 1837 by George and Elizabeth Jackson in whose memory this plaque is dedicated. Leaving Philadelphia and crossing the Allegheny Mountains in a covered wagon, the Jackson family exemplified the spirit of the early American settlers in this area.
This land was donated to the residents of Swisshelm Park as a living memorial to the pioneer Jackson family by Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Jackson
