1. Concord / Back Road Bridge Marker
Inscription. Located in the narrow path valley, the village of Concord was laid out c. 1790 by James Widney on the former Tuscarora Path, present-day Route 75 the village, with its shops, the Linn mill, and three churches, served the surrounding farming community. During its heyday, John Weaver, noted stone mason, erected a twin-span, stone arch bridge (1832) over the Tuscarora Creek, just west of the village. In its 220-year history, Concord has witnessed transportation improvements from native paths to modern highways.
