1. Olcott Amusement Park Marker
Inscription. In the early 1950s the Olcott Amusement Park was a prime destination for both adults and children. This map shows how the Olcott Amusement Park (Olcott Beach Carousel Park) looked at the time. [left margin] Ontario Street

Carousel A three-row Allan Herschell, the carousel of the time was complete with a Wurlitzer military band organ.

Ferris Wheel Located in front of the carousel, the park's tallest ride gave visitors a pristine view of the park and surrounding Olcott.

Milk Bottle Game A classic game, aluminum milk cans were set up in a pyramid formation and knocked down with baseballs.

Fuzzy Cats Made of leather with fray around the outside, these cats seemed to occupy more space than they really did, an optical illusion mastered only by the most skilled players!

Pick Up A Duck Still popular today this game made everyone a winner with the numbers on the bottom of the ducks.

Roller Skate Game At this game, a roller skate was pushed between two rubber bands and whoever it stopped in front of was the winner.

Cover the Spot Game While playing cover the spot, discs were thrown in an attempt to do just that cover the spot!

guns.

Kiddie Boat Ride A six boat Allan Herschell ride, complete with a real water tank.

Kiddie Auto Ride Eight all metal cars and fire trucks outfitted this ride.

Penny-Pitch In this game, cigarette packs with small marks on them were arranged in a square and if you could land a penny on the mark, you had won a pack of cigarettes.

Caterpillar One of the main attractions, this ride had a wavy track with a canvas cover that would raise and lower, only for the bravest riders! Years later, this ride was replaced with the ever popular bumper cars.

Ring Toss At this game, small pegs attached to a board had prizes rubber banded to them. If you get a ring on a peg, you win the prize.

Balloons & Darts Game The classic game, players threw darts and popped balloons in order to win a prize.

Concessions As all Amusement Parks must have, This Park offered hotdogs, hamburgers, soft drinks and ice cream cones to visitors!
