Inscription.
Small businesses have been anchors in Bucksport for generations, and are equally important in shaping the future of the town.
This Federal-style house, built circa 1824, belonged to Phineas Heywood, a harness maker whose store was located across the street. The house was built with bricks made from clay on the site and the 13 panes of glass in the sidelights by the front door represent the 13 original states. Today, the building is home to several small businesses.
