More about this memorial. This marker is one of at least 15 identical 9/11 memorial markers dedicated around the country by Alderwoods Group, a funeral services company. While an article about the unveiling of this marker in Forest View, a southwestern suburb of Chicago, could not be found, it had to have been dedicated between 2002 and 2006, which were the only years the company existed. Alderwoods was formed in 2002 after the funeral services company Loewen Group emerged from bankruptcy; it was acquired by Service Corporation International in 2006.
