Regarding The Roseberry Homestead. Excerpt from the National Register nomination:
The Roseberry House is an excellent example of Revolutionary stone architecture and is in good condition. Most importantly, it is probably the oldest structure existing in Phillipsburg. The house is of substan­tial size even by today's standards. Much of the interior detail, such as the mantels, fireplaces and doors, is original, but most of the hard­ware has been replaced.

2. The Roseberry Homestead Marker
today as Phillipsburg along with thousands of other acres of land. … John Roseberry, Sr., one of the original settlers of Phillipsburg (he is mentioned in one of the Coxe deeds of 1765), purchased the Coxe land in 1787 at a sheriff's sale. The Roseberry House was either built at this time or a few years earlier.
