1. Meisenheimer Building Marker
Inscription.
In 1887, W. Meisenheimer built a 25x80 two-story brick building for his mercantile business from locally made brick, with a 25x70 frame hardware building on back. Purchased by RB Christy in 1902, it housed 1st State Bank and 1st National Bank. The Electric Cafι was also built on this site, later known as the Wallace Cafι & the City Cafι. The present building was built in 1962.

Excerpt:  Scott City appeared on the map as a third class incorporated city on the 10th day of January 1887. Previous to that time, it had operated as a village. The boundaries were designated by the board of county commissioners, by request of a petition of a majority of the residents

2. Marker detail: Meisenheimer Building
of the village and an election was called for February 17, 1887. The first mayor elected was James B. Johnson; police judge, L.S. Boyer; councilmen, Frank H. Miller, Cy Brookman, W. Meisenheimer, John Eckard, and Thomas Crook.
