766 - Erste urkundliche Erwähnung Schwetzingens im Codex Laureshamensis - Lorscher Codex
803 - Erwähnung Schwetzingen „superiore" - Oberdorf, ein Unterdorf muß auch bestanden haben
1503 - Dorfsiegel
1650 - Gemeindehaus, zuvor gab es eine „Bürgerstube" im Haus des Schultheißen
1706 - Bau eines Rathauses. Zwischen Rathaus und katholischer Kirche war der Marktplatz
1759 - Erhebung zum Marktflecken durch Kurfürst Carl Theodor
1803 - Reichsdeputationshauptschluß - Übergang der rechtsrheinischen Kurpfalz an Baden - Schwetzingen wird Sitz des Bezirksamtes (bis 1924)
1821 - Neubau des Rathauses am gleichen Platz nach den Plänen von Friedrich Dyckerhoff, Schüler des badischen Baumeisters Weinbrenner
1833 - Verleihung des Prädikats Stadt durch den badischen Großherzog Leopold
1880 - teilweiser Umbau und Renovierung des Rathauses
1967 - Erweiterung und Umgestaltung entlang der Zeyherstraße
1987/88 - Weitere bauliche Veränderungen
1992/93 - Feuerwehrgerätehaus

1803 - Imperial Deputation Act - transfer of the Electorate of the Palatinate to Baden on the right bank of the Rhine - Schwetzingen becomes the seat of the district office (until 1924)
1821 - New town hall built on the same site according to plans by Friedrich Dyckerhoff, a student of the Baden architect Weinbrenner
1833 - Awarded the title of town by the Baden Grand Duke Leopold
1880 - Partial reconstruction and renovation of the town hall
1967 - Expansion and redesign along Zeyherstrasse
1987/88 - Further structural work Changes
