Anyone who wants to learn something about the town's history in Schwetzingen can do so at their leisure - from bench to bench! The first themed benches were set up for the town's(Submitted on October 22, 2024, by James Hulse of Medina, Texas.)anniversary in 2016. From a one-off "try-it-out", the benches have now developed into a unique tourist attraction. Historical hotspots, such as Schwetzingen's importance as a brewing, tobacco and asparagus town, are addressed here, as are contributions to archaeology, music and mobility history. The great success of this "storytelling project" has led to 40 themed benches now adorning the townscape.
The creative designs were created by graphic designer Klaus Peter Deimann.
