1. Franziskaner-Kloster / Franciscan Monastery Marker
Inscription.  German:

English Translation:
Starting in 1767, the Franciscan monastery complex with a monastery church and cloister was built along the former Maulbeerallee leading to Heidelberg Castle. In 1802, the monks left the monastery and gave it up. They were taken in by the Capuchins in Heidelberg. In 1907, the monastery building was demolished, the monastery cellar was built on its site and operated as a restaurant for a long time. The remodeled building then served as the home of the Municipal Savings Bank until it was finally occupied by Deutsche Bank.
