Residents of the town of St. Georges knew the Sutton House as one of the earliest structures in the area. For nearly two hundred years, generations of Suttons have lived in the house and have been associated with the settlement and growth of St. Georges...John Sutton first appears in New Castle County Deed Records as a purchaser of St. Georges land in 1801.
