Inscription.
The Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi was organized in 1973. Originally composed of some thirty-five craftsmen, membership has grown to several hundred artists and craftsmen from across the southeast. The Mississippi Craft Center was originally housed in a log cabin on the Natchez Trace Parkway.

On June 8, 2007, this state-of-the-art building opened as the new home of the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi. The 22,000 square-foot building serves as a craft museum, education center, retail outlet, and events venue. Funding for the center was provided by the Mississippi Legislature.

In 2018, the craft center was renamed the William L. (Bill) Waller Craft Center in honor former Governor Bill Waller (1926-2011). As governor, he was instrumental in organizing the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi and was an avid patron of the arts. It is now referred to as the Waller Craft Center.
