Kurpfälzische Hofmusik in der Sommerresidenz
Mit den Kurfürsten Carl Philipp und Carl Theodor entstand in der Kurpfalz eine höfische Musikkultur sondergleichen, die Mannheim und somit auch Schwetzingen zwischen 1747 und 1778 zu einer der führenden Musikmetropolen Europas werden ließ. Die Musikgeschichte prägte für diese Epoche den Begriff der „Mannheimer Schule".

English Translation:
Electoral Palatinate Court Music in the Summer Residence
With the Electors Carl Philipp and Carl Theodor, an unparalleled courtly music culture emerged in the Electorate of the Palatinate, which made Mannheim and thus also Schwetzingen one of the leading music metropolises in Europe between 1747 and 1778. Music history coined the term "Mannheim School" for this era.
