Inscription. Tippecanoe Lodge No. 174 was chartered by The Grand Lodge of Ohio in 1849, and is the oldest continuously operating organization in Tippecanoe City. The Lodge met in various meeting rooms overlooking 2nd & Main Streets, including the Chaffee Building next to the old Opera House. The Lodge moved into the 3rd floor of the Bowman & Davis Building next door (west) in 1895, and met there until 1933. In 1933 the Lodge moved into this building, originally built in 1855-56 by Henry H. Darst, and purchased this building in 1936. It has been our home ever since.
