Charlie & Harrison Ryan
Charlie and Harrison Ryan, brothers from Charlottetown, enlisted in the Second World War and served overseas for more than four years with the Royal Canadian Medical Corps. Descendants of David and Keisha Shepard, they are part of one of the oldest Black Islanders families. Charlie Ryan was also inducted into the PEI Sports Hall of Fame for the baseball prowess.
