Pomona in Los Angeles County, California — The American West (Pacific Coastal)
W.K. Kellogg
1860 - 1951
Believing that education offers the greatest opportunity for really improving one generation over another, W.K. Kellogg gave his Arabian Horse ranch to the state of California for this Cal Poly campus in 1949. The Arabian herd and traditional Sunday shows, initiated in the 1920's, were sources of great pleasure and pride to the breakfast cereal pioneer. In 1973 the W.K. Kellogg Foundation provided funds for the construction of this Arabian Horse Center.
