The Orchard
The apple tree is native to Europe having been brought here by the colonists. This historic orchard contains fifteen apple trees chosen for their use on New England farms during the 19th century.
Six varieties include Cox Orange Pippin, Pound Sweet, Dudley, Northern Spy, Golden Russet and Sheep's Nose. Each variety possesses qualities unique for either cooking, cider making, desserts or plain eating.
