Named for Joseph J. Lilley, who resided in this home from 1954-1971
Joseph J. Lilley was born in Providence, R.I. in 1913. His prodigious musical talent led him to New York, where he became lifelong friends with Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, and Dorothy Lamour.
Lilley moved to Los Angeles in 1940, and was Musical Director at Paramount Studios for more than 25 years.
He composed, arranged and scored more than 100 films, including White Christmas (1954), the iconic Hope/Crosby/Lamour Road pictures (1940-1962), and Li'l Abner (1959), for which Lilley was nominated for an Academy Award.
Lilley authored many songs, including "(I've Got Spurs That) Jingle Jangle Jingle," with Frank Loesser, which reached no. 1 on the Billboard charts in July 1942.
Lilley purchased 10104 Moorpark Street in 1954, where he resided until his death in 1971. His wife Dorothy, and daughter Mary Susan, continued to live at Moorpark for many years.

He worked for Paramount Studios from 1943 and was involved in many of the studio's successful musicals.
