Dreißig Jahre lang flog diese Canadair unermüdlich Löscheinsätze gegen die hauptsächlich am Mittelmeer auftretenden Waldbrände. Zuletzt stand sie im Dienste der französischen „Protection Civile" (Zivilschutz). Zur Feuerbekämpfung trägt die CL-215 bis zu 5.445 Liter Wasser oder Löschflüssigkeit in zwei Rumpftanks. Die hier ausgestellte Canadair ist auf dem Stahlgerüst so montiert, dass sie wie im Sinkflug auf eine Wasseroberfläche zusteuert.

For thirty years, this Canadair was tirelessly firefighting against the forest fires that occur mainly in the Mediterranean. This Canadair was last in the service of the French „Protection Civile". For firefighting the CL-215 carries up to 5,445 liters of water or extinguishing liquid in two hull tanks. The Canadair here is mounted on the steel scaffolding so that it descends towards a water surface.

The Canadair CL-215 (Scooper) is the first model in a series of flying boat amphibious aircraft designed and built by Canadian aircraft manufacturer Canadair, and later produced by Bombardier.
