Das ATAR 101 ist ein Axialstrahltriebwerk, das von der französischen Firma Snecma gebaut wurde. Es wurde von Motoren und Konstruktionsarbeiten abgeleitet, die während des Zweiten Weltkriegs bei BMW in Deutschland durchgeführt wurden. Der Name leitet sich von der ursprünglichen Konstruktionsgruppe „Atelier Technique Aéronautique de Rickenbach" ab, in der Hermann Östrich und viele Mitglieder der BMW-Gasturbinen-Konstruktionsgruppe sowie andere deutsche Triebwerkskonstrukteure tätig waren.
