James and Tillie Clark owned and operated the first caf้ in Panguitch from this location. The on June 1, 1925 the Bryce Canyon Caf้ opened its doors. Leased from the Clarks by Fred and Eleanor Bruhn, the caf้ served freshly ground meats, homemade rolls and pies. Apartments in the top of the building housed the family and the caf้ doubled as the Trailways Bus station on the Phoenix to Salt Lake City route. Later this building housed Star Store General Merchandise, Western Auto, a Sears Roebuck Catalog Store and a craft store. Cowboy Collectibles opened for business in 2004 offering a wide selection of Western souvenirs and collectibles.

This space originally served as an open-air dance hall. In March of 1935 Thomas Schow and Jed Cooper completed construction of the Schow and Cooper Mercantile, or S&C Mercantile, and sold hardware, groceries, clothing and dry goods. Rick and Sherrie Burningham purchased the mercantile from Cooper in 1975. They continued to sell clothing and household goods until a fire destroyed the store in 1992. When Randy and Becky Yard purchased the space in 2006, they created the S&C Corral, a small park which features a brief history of the S&C Mercantile.
