Inscription.
Original structure built for Richard and Nancy Holmes, who maintained a small apothecary shop next door on the same property where food staples, medicine, and liquor were sold. The property was lost to foreclosure in 1858. Thereafter it remained a private residence until 2000, when the building was substantially expanded and renovated to serve as a home office.
