Louis Armand est un ingénieur, haut fonctionnaire et résistant français. Il entre à la SNCF en 1938 et en 1943, Louis Armand s'oppose au nazisme et organise un groupe de résistance : «Résistance-fer» pour lequel il est arrêté par la Gestapo. Libéré en 1945, Louis Armand est décoré des titres de «Grand officier de la Légion d'honneur» et de «Compagnon de la Libération». Il est également élu à l'Académie française en 1963.

Louis Armand was a French engineer, senior civil servant and resistance fighter. He joined the SNCF in 1938, and in 1943, Louis Armand opposed Nazism and organized a resistance group: "Iron Resistance" for which he was arrested by the Gestapo. Released in 1945, Louis Armand was decorated with the titles of "Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor" and "Companion of the Liberation". He was also elected to the Académie française in 1963.
