Het Weeshuis
Het weeshuis werd in 1558 als instelling gesticht door de priester Matthias Tynic Matthiaszoon. Op 4 maart 1661 kon de eerste steen worden gelegd van een nieuw gebouw waarin uitsluitend kinderen van vermogende burgers werden opgenomen.

Alleen de zijgevels zijn, met gewijzigde detailleringen, nog uit de bouwtijd. Dit geldt ook voor de gevelsteen in de voorgevel waarop een voorstelling van kolfspelende kinderen. In de 19de eeuw werd het gebouw aan de achterzijde met een aanbouw uitgebreid. Ook de voorgevel werd toen vernieuwd. In de oorspronkelijke regentenkamer bevinden zich beschilderde behangsels uit het eind van de 18de eeuw.

The Orphanage
The orphanage was founded as an institution in 1558 by the priest Matthias Tynic Matthiaszoon. On 4 March 1661, the foundation stone was laid for a new building in which only children of wealthy citizens were admitted.
