A tribute to Robert Berkhoff whose vision and leadership led a group of hopeful people in the purchase of 56 historic town homes from McCormick Theological Seminary and in the creation of the Seminary Townhouse Association on September 25, 1975 which has resulted in the lasting community that continues here to this day

The Chalmers Place roadway is also owned by the school. was an attorney who served as the first president of the Seminary Townhouse Association, which was formed to preserve the community after the McCormick Theological Seminary moved to the south side of Chicago.
