1. Walraven van Hall (Wikipedia). Overview:
Walraven "Wally" van Hall (10 February 1906 12 February 1945) was a Dutch banker and resistance leader during the occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. He founded the bank of the Resistance, which was used to distribute funds to victims of the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands and fund the Dutch resistance. Van Hall was executed by the German occupier in Haarlem shortly before the end of the war and buried at the Erebegraafplaats Bloemendaal.(Submitted on November 28, 2024.)

2. Walraven van Hall Monument - wide view
The memorial for Walraven van Hall consists of two parts - the plaque and the large fallen tree sculpture. The tree visible on the left has been turned into a makeshift memorial for the late Russian dissident Alexei Navalny.

5. Memorial for Russian dissident Alexei Navalny
After his death in February 2024, a large impromptu memorial was set up for him in Dam Square. However, in the interim, a tree here by the van Hall memorial has become a more permanent makeshift memorial.
