1. Historic Oscar Elm Tree Marker
Inscription. Yonder stands the "Oscar Elm," a registered Ulmus americana 115' tall and 19.5' girth, survivor of the Dutch Elm plague, healthy and still growing, The only taller elm in New York State is in Fulton Co., 140' tall and 15.7' girth. No elm in New York or New England and only about two dozen in the USA exceed "Oscar" in height and girth.
